Advertise: Need to transfer files from unbootable Mac, MacBook, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iMac


Can't boot into your Mac! But you need your files on the Macintosh HD drive!Hard disk full! Mac OSX crashed! El Capitan not work! Mountain Lion not work!
In order for this to work, your Macintosh HD drive need to be in working stage!

You will need this "Mac Bootable USB Linux Mint Cinnamon!"
It is PNY 8GB USB flash drive.
You will also need another usb or external drive, which needs to be format as FAT, so you can transfer your files to that usb or external drive.

Step by step:

1) Plug the "Mac Bootable USB Linux Mint Cinnamon" in to your Mac machine. IT HAS TO BE INTEL BASE MACHINE. Usually, most of the newer machine after 2007.

2) Restart/turn on the Mac, after the chime sound, press and hold "option" key.

3) Click on the EFI-USB, click on the up arrow.

4) On the "Available Boot Options", press 1. (Boot Linux from ISO file)

5) On the "Boot Selectors", press 1. ("Ubuntu", Linux Mint is Ubuntu based linux)

6) After Linux Mint finish boot in, click on Files (green folder) or double click "Home" on the desktop.

7) Click on "Macintosh HD" or whatever your Mac's hard-disk's name.

8) Double click on "Users".

9) Double on YOUR USER NAME.

10) Right click on the folder you would like to copy your files from, e.g. Documents.

11) Choose "Open as Root"

12) Plug in another usb, format as FAT.

13) Use the Root window (Red tab on top) to copy your files from the folder to the usb.

14) Done. Now you can clean install your mac with OS X or Linux Mint if you like.
